DIY Hiking/Trekking Pole End Cap

MYOG is not usually my thing, but thought I'd share a quick and nasty solution I've used previously and recently had cause to revive.
I bought a cheap Quechua 500 trekking pole from Decathlon a few months ago to try out, because it has a flicklock, and is pretty lightweight and very compact.
But it doesn't come with an end tip/cap, and I was too much of a cheapskate to pay an extra $5 or $6 in addition to the $25 for the pole.
So before a recent trip to the ACT I revived an earlier practice of cutting a short section of old garden hose long enough to cover the tip when not in use.
Prevents poking out eyes, making holes in backpacks and so on. I actually re-used the hose from a very old retired pole and trimmed it to required length with kitchen shears.
Fits quite firmly/securely on most poles I've tried. Recycling at its best :), pictures below.
