Mueller Hut to Barron Saddle

Wed 17 Sep, 2014 8:01 pm

Hi Guys,

I'm looking for some information on a trek from Mueller Hut to Barron Saddle Hut, I cannot seem to find much info about it, is there a marked track? The difficulty? From the minimal things I've read its not easy, is roped rock climbing required with harness etc? Feel free to PM me.

Cheers

I did Sealy last year which takes you as far as Sladden Saddle. It's a walk up to Mueller Hut then across glaciated terrain on the western side of the Sealy Ridge. We roped up as it was in summer but most of the crevasses were still well covered. No rock climbing involved on that part except for the last climb on Mt Sealy which you wouldn't need to do. If it's icy then I'd definitely recommend crampons and ice axe. See my flickr page below for pics and description.
