Much can happen over winter with the big rain and a snow melt. Thanks for the timely advice.

Winter and spring have high river levels, with trees sometimes ripping the chain off.

BTAC with PV have cleared the whole LONG SPUR walking track from the end of the Long Spur 4 x 4 track to the top of B. Hill on Mt. Bogong as of early Dec. 2022.

There is some timber down on the AAWT between
The Basalt Temple and Cobungra Gap. That was during late Dec. 2022. The track is becoming subject to minor diversions as a result.

Duane Spur was cleared during the last weekend in October 2023. The T Spur as far as the T Spur knob was also cleared.
The crossing at Big River was knee/ thigh deep and the chain is still in place.

The working bee by BTAC and PV is proceeding this weekend March 22-25th 2024.
The AAWT track clearing will take place between Johnny's Top and Buemba Hut site.
If you are walking in the area you will see us and hear the sound of power tools and elbow grease being applied.

The AAWT was cleared almost the whole way down from the summit area of Johnnie's Top to
Buemba Flats at Corner Creek in late March 2024 by BTAC and Parks Vic. staff .
It was a huge job in
a remote place.
Hikers can thank us by joining in and volunteering with Bushwalking Victoria. See the BTAC website.
