A few photos I took with The Boss' new camera on the Mount Arthur walk with the "BWT Strollers" last Sunday. The next day-walk is yet to be organised (next overnighter is Claude, Vandyke, Roland) but all are welcome! :)

Image
Some wise-heads try to work out what they're looking at!

Image
It's Launceston you fools! Doesn't look so bad from up there!

Image
Pomysi investigates the damage to the kiosk (can't buy a pie and chips there any more).

Image
On a more serious note, the level of vandalism up there was shocking.

Image
Even the solar panels had taken a pounding (notice one on the left smashed).

Image
Normally I'd say this was probably blown over in a storm, but up there I'd suggest it's had help.

Image
That's what we came to see!

Image
Simon investigates the huge beehive cairn.

Image
The cairn hides the visitors book! Signed by The Strollers, including a plug for the forums! ;)

Image
Back at the cars, a good walk had by all! Sthughes is still baiting flyfisher though....

Glad to hear you guys (and girl) had a good time. It looks as though the cairn has escaped vandalism.

I can remember when the first fire tower was being built. As I was attending Lilydale school at the time. The components were taken up with a helicopter from the Lilydale football oval in Doaks road. (Back in the Seventies.)

Looks like you had a great day. Did you check out the new fire lookout/hut near the summit?
