That is visually confusing - the top (body of water?) does look like a ridgeline. Does the uncropped version put it all into context?

Looking down from a ridge, two bodies of water, both like glass. Start at Lake Dobson and head towards Tarn Shelf, you will pass this view, it will be in the valley to your right.

I suspect its looking down on Platypus Tarn from the Lake Seal Lookout - Lake Seal on the left, tarn in the foreground/right.

interesting shot. that second photo does help in ruling out the top part being a ridgeline, like geo was saying..
