I spent a couple of days on the Cathedral Plateau last week and was lucky enough to have it all to myself. A beautiful area with great views of the Cradle Mtn - Lake St Clair NP. Enjoy.

Great shots Martin, I was wondering if you had been up there yet.
Looks like you had idyllic conditions, very lucky.
Did you camp down by Chalice Lake? Get all your peaks done?
I have been up that way twice, thankfully both times in good weather & would go back again any day of the week;
great views from the rim & great internal views of the lake etc, it's got it all.
Great views down to Lees paddocks from the rim, really get a feel for the valley from that perspective.

Got all the peaks done. Camped at Chalice Lake. Got another panorama to load but it keeps crashing!

Went in from the end of the Mersey Forest Road up the Chapel Lake and the Grail Falls. Not much water coming over and it was surprisingly dry everywhere. There's a good track up to Chalice Lake and several routes, some cairned, thereafter that are easy to lose but the ground is mostly very easy going.
One more... for those who like waterfalls.

Awesome Martin thanks!
P.S Im not usually a fan of water photos (people are sucked in too easily by time delay in my opinion) but thats the best shot of a waterfall I think ive ever seen!

One of my best bushwalking memories is camping on the cliffs of Cathedral Mt and watching the sunset. I love looking down the valley, such a feeling of space!
That little clearing in your photos is pretty cool as well.

Very nice MJD. I've been up the Grail Falls way many moons ago via the Never Never. Lots of snow and ice at the time. Great area.

I agree great shots. A question though. What is the river winding through the clearing in that shot of the pillar with valley below. (Almost gave me vertigo just looking at it. )

Yes they are great shots. About the river - me too

Yes, that would be the Mersey running through Lees Paddocks.
