Finally, after we failed to reach Lake Youl last winter due to bad weather, we were able to make it this time. We had a great weekend at the plateau just by ourselves. The weather was great and I still believe that Ben Lomond is a secret beauty spot in Tasmania. Here a few pics

Nice photos Sam, thanks for sharing.
I have explored most of Ben but not Lake Youl, I must get there some time.
Those last 2 photos almost look coastal, it's a vast plateau.

Hi Sam, great pics. How did you get on repairing your tent?

Hi Luke,
After many phone calls and with help from MD Launceston I was able to get a new tent pole to a very reasonable price. I used the new tent pole to replace the broken segments of the two old poles. The rest of the damage I ended up fixing myself with the sewing maschine. Although it doesn't really look professional, it works and was much less hassle than running around and making phone calls trying to get it fixed.

Glad you had such great weather samh, and that got to see Lake Youl at its best. Great pics too! The openness and lack of trees makes it a place to explore in low wind :) ... but so brilliant when you get such conditions.

Last summer we also explored Cotton Moor, Grant Cirque and Speke Gorge (photos attached) - and Stacks Bluff (as mentioned earlier in this thread). The whole plateau has plenty of fascination both grand and detailed,

cheers
