You did ask for "challenging" walks and some of those suggested are very challenging. I suspect those who do Mt Ossa as a day-walk (from Arm River) actually run some of the way, although it could be done as a walk if you start early enough.

No I did mean from the carpark. It makes for a long day but quite doable and very satisfying.
