Never Never Valley

Help Please!
I have walked from The Walls Through to the Overland Track via the N N Valley half a dozen times...the last in about 2007 - post "Booking System" for the OT.
I am now going to take a small group thru the valley from the OT thru to The Walls and Junction Lake. But for the life of me I cant remember where to Tee-Off from the board walk that goes down to Hartnett falls. I have always come OUT onto the board walk and I seem to remember being about 150m from the falls. Should I stuff around trying to find the right spot, or just walk up river from the Falls. ( I do not plan to cross until well upstream, so we will stay on the TRU LH bank for sometime.
Thoughts please?
O and not going until Jan feb Next year.
Cheers
Graeme

Hi Graeme,
The muddy track is easy to find just at the end of the boardwalk (split logs) about 50m from the falls. It's easy to follow thru the Bauera scrub. It comes back to the Mersey were Campfire creek joins and the it's a delightfull walk on the bank of the Mersey thru the Beech. In about 2k it comes out in a big open area. It is here that there is a big fallen tree to cross over the Mersey just before the falls. There was a pink ribbon track up to the Falls but the ribbon has been removed and the track is hard to follow thru the scrub. A good option is to go in to the rainforest were its easy walking. About three creek crossing or 3k come out to a big clearing were another braided creek comes down to the Mersey. Search around at the start of the rainforest still on the true right as there is a track that heads up to the top falls. (Again the pink tape has been removed but it's easy too follow). It steepens and becomes degraded and handholds are becoming fewer. At the top the track, there is a NP wilderness box to register. It continues to the Lake and Hut and the track is continuous and easy to follow over to the Walls.
Love the Never Never, hate the scrub.
ciao Peter

Just wondered if anyone had an update on conditions in the Never Never and if there are any new log crossings upstream of Mc Coy - I think my old one will have been washed away by now. I am traversing from Hartnett to junction Lake, staying on TRUE left and bank until above McCoy
