OK
Bit of a fluke mentioning leeches from Lake Ayr only to cross over with Mary Creek Plains
[Says to self - must refrain from using Google Earth... scary]
Better put an easier one in - but precision please.

- Looking east over Lake Hanson from the track around the back of Hanson

Cyane Lake, in the Labyrinth?
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 12:33 pm
No - not in the Labyrinth
I am yet to get there.. another day

It actually looks like Ben Lomond possibly taken from somewhere like Gunns Lake or Little Lake? (off Poatina Rd region somewhere?)........I'm probably way off!!!
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 12:52 pm
Yeah I pondered Ben Lomond too. Just find it hard to believe you cant see any of the farm land in between.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 12:55 pm
Lake Hanson, looking east
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 1:15 pm
Yeah I pondered that also. Perhaps on the saddle btween Hanson Peak and Mt. Campbell, using a bit of zoom. I've never seen Lake Hanson in anything but horrible weather or impending darkness however.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 1:19 pm
Or on that ridge that protrudes into Lake Hanson on the southern side. Pretty close I'd say Norts

P.S. Could even be from the summit or part may up actually. If I had a proper map here at work

I've only seen it it in bad weather too. Could be on the track that goes around the back of Hansons
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 1:25 pm
Yeah that was my thought - did that track once but only saw clag
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 1:55 pm
Clag? Dunno what you mean.
How much "precision" did you want it Eggs?

My guess is you're going to win with that.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:17 pm
tasadam has all the tools for precision (almost spot on), and sthughes had it right (then add all sorts of options to hedge his bets

), but I will give it to norts as close enough, especially as he refined it to the track around the back of Hanson.
Over to you norts
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:22 pm
Summit of Mt. Lot or there about?
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:23 pm
Close
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:26 pm
I think you are close enough, just before you go down onto Lightning Ridge
Your turn Stu
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:30 pm
Cheers Norts.
This one will probably be open to the googlers again;
I'll take near enough is close enough...
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:34 pm
???
Frankland Range?
Sorry Norts I assumed Sthughes because of eggs requesting precision but overlooked your 2nd comment.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:40 pm
Sorry Adam, not the Franklands.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:44 pm
Mt Cullen, and yes i used a map
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:45 pm
I can't remember if this is one spot you put up in a post [edit - it was Tazdaz], but I reckon its Mount Cullen looking out over Hermit Basin
Shucks .. Nick beat me
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:49 pm
Nick, you are up, nice map work!
Taken from the descent off Mt. Cullen.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 2:53 pm
yeah i would have no chance of knowing that one without a map..
try this one.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:04 pm
From Innes Peak, D'Aguillar Range, west coast?
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:06 pm
Nick
Another one from a previous post:
Quote: "The view from Mt Innes was very rewarding, even though its only 660m high, the view north along the range to Mt Lee and Frenchmans Cap, and the rugged Prince of Wales range to the east were worthy of any >1000m peak in Tassie."
I was wondering what that photo would look like - and now here it is.
The key for me was getting the profile of Frenchmans Cap on the left hand horizon. I can sort of guess where Diamond Peak might be.
Sheesh.. pause for a few minutes to see if anyone else wants a try & bang they get it first off.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:15 pm
nice one stu. did you see frenchmans in the back?
haha I wondered if anyone would do some detective work.. yeah this is that view eggs
here are some other views from the same place.
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:20 pm
Looks a great area to visit Nick, on my infinite list of places to go.
....I'll put the guess down to detective work
Here's an easy one, then I'm going to see my WAIA councilor ('Where Am I Anonymous') to see if I can beat the addiction;
no doubt there will be a few other takers. I will just be a quiet observer for a while I think, also need to get some work done!!!
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:45 pm
It looks like Lake Jupiter, so I would you were about the 680 metre altitude on a ridge southeast of Lake Calisto, roughly 1KM.
Also south of Lake Ganymede.
In the WA, obviously.
I had to be a detective to work this one out. But am I right?
Fri 19 Jun, 2009 3:50 pm
ouch, so close.
Got the Arthurs part right Adam.
hint...I am on a summit.
