walking is Tassie in November14

Hi all - my first post. Not quite sure how the replies work.
Two of us are doing the Tassie south coast walk in November 2014 but would like to a warm up walk first for maybe 4-5 days as we are travelling from afar. We are quite fit seniors, well organized and keen. The first walk needs to be where we can get to by bus and then return to Hobart also by bus prior to the SC walk. Would appreciate some help here thanks. - Cheers Al

You can get a bus to Lake St. Clair then walk into Pine Valley for a few days. Walk up the Accropolis one day and into the Labyrinth on another day.
I think you can also get dropped off on the Lyell Hwy at the start of Frenchmans Cap.

Why not just explore the Wellington Range for 2 or 3 nights. Get off the bus at Ferntree and walk up and under the Organ Pipes to Big Bend, Lost World..... then maybe camp a couple of nights near the top of Mountain River (nice sheltered campsite there).
Go across Connection area to Bonnet, check out the Cap, Myrtle Falls, walk over to Marian-Patrick area and back to your campsite.
Day 3 strike camp and walk out to the bus via Montague area, maybe take in Cathedral rock........nice and close to Hobart :D
