Three Each Way

Mon 24 Feb, 2014 4:17 pm

Sometimes it's nice to not have to drive anywhere.

0730hrs: Start from home, leisurely pace
0800hrs: Knocklofty
0830hrs: Base of Breakneck Track
0850hrs: Junction Cabin
0910hrs: The Chalet
0930 hrs: Big Bend
1005hrs: Feral cat sighting
1030 hrs: The source of Mountain River and turn around point.

Footwear: Sneakers entirely adequate.
Gaiters?: Open tracks but good sun and snake protection. Snake encounters: nil. Snake reportings: several.
Clothing: Business shirt of course. Light, doesn't cling to the frame like wool or synthetics. Built in anterior ventilation ports. Top button and collar up for makeshift neck warmer.
Fuel: sandwich prior, 4 plums and water en route.

Coming soon: Four Each Way. Is Collins Bonnet attainable?

Three each way from my place would get me to Huonville and back :( Not the same really.

CB is doable I think, but you'd have to walk at a steady quick pace. Its around 3 hours from Big Bend at a regular pace.
