Hi Lory,
SEQ is a great place to see fungi! As mentioned, wetter seasons are usually better (Spring and early Summer is usually too dry to see much).
Rainforested areas like Lamington NP are a great place to see fungi. Head there after rain, if you walk slowly and keep an eye out there'll be plenty to see. I take very amateurish photos of fungi from time to time, you can get a feel for what you might come across from checking out some posts on my blog....
http://sirkingchampionmunch.blogspot.co ... allal.htmlhttp://sirkingchampionmunch.blogspot.co ... okout.htmlI picked up a book recently that gives a good overview of Australian fungi, and how to identify common species: A field guide to the fungi of Australia (my version was reprinted 2013). In the introduction the author notes that QLD in particular is a fungi 'hotspot' that's not been well explored.
Cheers,
Munch
