Overland Track end of Sept Walking Companions

Postby tassieexpat84 » Sun 28 May, 2017 1:18 pm

Hi there.

I know this probably quite early but, I'm doing the Overland Track (plus the Labyrinth) in the last week of September this year and am looking for walking companions. I'm an easygoing 35 year old primary school teacher guy with longer walk experience (I've done the South Coast Track plus lots of other smaller hikes.) I'm reasonably fit and would like to do it in about 6 days (including the side-trip.) I'm also Tasmanian (live in Melbourne) so I should be able to convince family members to drop us off and pick us up. I've already booked my flights, so my dates are quite set (it would be the 25th-30th September.)

Look forward to hearing from you.

Will.

Hi,

Have you found any hiking companions yet?
I am interested in going around 25th to 30th Sept too. I have to be in Sydney the 1st October.
I am currently living in the ACT but from NZ originally. I have done a reasonable amt of hiking - Queen Charlotte NZ, Banks Peninsula NZ and the Three Capes - TAS. I am keen to do the Overland.

Look forward to hearing from you.

Hello Kate and Will,

are you both still doing this trip? I am also looking at doing this trip and was wondering if it's still on. I'm still in the planning stages.

Kind regards

Hi will,
I've just finished larapinta so re-enthused about bushwalking and feeling pretty fit. R u still looking for walking companions for overland track? I would have to get organized pretty quickly at this stage. I did the track about 10 years ago. Julia

Hey will,

I know it's super duper last minute but would love to join your crew if there's still room. Please let me know if you still plan to go.

Thanks!
Andrew

Hi Andrew.

Yes - still looking. I'm getting a life from my parents to start Monday - will be in Hobart if tomorrow to collect supplies. If you reply by the end of today, I'll send you my phone number or you send me yours and we can chat about it. I'll be out most today by I'll be back tonight.

Kind regards.
