My web site also. It's a bit of an out of control hobby. I have spent t he last 5 years trekking around Tassie. I have tried to add each walk to the site as I do them. Any donations of information and images for the site appreciated.

Gerry- I didn't know that was your site- that's a wonderful resource. You (and Nik) ought to be getting community project grants from the state for your work. I am forever browsing Touring Tasmania!

Another good blog I've just been informed of, mainly for short walks:

Hi everyone this is a bit about Tassiepaddlers :D
We are three blokes that have got together to do a little paddling and some fishing. We got to talking and decided to put together this website and forum to chat about kayaking, fishing,Bushwalking and adventure in Tasmania. We like to pack up the kayaks and just head out to 'get back to nature' as it were.

We think Tassie has some of the best wilderness available - just our opinion! We like to go kayaking on the Rivers and Lakes in Tassie, camping and enjoy walking in the peace of the wilderness. Maybe doing a little fishing and exploring along the way.
Cheers Simmo

Thanks for the link to your site, Simmo. Looks fantastic from a page-layout point of view, too - very easy on the eyes. I'll be sure to recommend your site to any paddler members here if I see them asking paddling-related questions.

I have recently developed a Bushwalking Skills blog http://www.bushwalkingskills.com/ which is my way of sharing some of the bushwalking skills and knowledge that I have learnt over many years, including the last five years of walking annually in Tasmania. It contains my ideas about bushwalk leadership, trip planning, GPS navigation, first aid, equipment and food tips for beginners to experienced bushwalkers. I try to be a little bit controversial, so any comments are welcome.

My companion Bushwalking Skills "wiki" or "library" https://sites.google.com/site/bushwalkingskills/ contains my aide-memoire of leadership, navigation etc skills that I carry with me on all walks. This site contains an extensive library of first aid topics , emergency procedures, leadership skills etc which I am in the process of updating hence the disclaimer.
