I need to stop answering when I have nothing to contribute.
I read your recent trip report eggs (wonderful photos). Is this Mt Sonder from Mt Giles?

It is indeed Mt Zeil - and you should read trip reports - especially when this image is a part of a larger panorama in the report.
So - yes - it is from Giles.
[the report is still a work in hand..]
But given that you keep passing the buck - maybe MM would go next..?

Ha yep although I always recognise that silhouette I should have taken your bonus point challenge more seriously and looked at some photos (looking at my most recent Mt Sonder photos it does look like a bit of a different angle). I didn't actually know you could get such a clear shot of Zeil form Giles (digging out my old film photos of Mt Giles from a couple of decades ago as a kid may or may not have helped....)

Lets go south (SA). Where is this little fella having morning tea?

And a happy place to be judging by your pictures. Here's another one, also in SA. Name the ranges and the viewing point.

I chose this photograph due to its proximity to MM's shots. Mine is from very close by.

Eggs, you surmise correctly. Apart from minor detail, for which I will not chasten thee. The close range is the Chace Range. Named after a stockman, William Chace, who was probably the first white bloke to “discover” that Wilpena Pound is a pound. He reported this to his employers who, in 1851 made one of those familiar land grabs that the original dwellers had no say in.

Behind that is the Druid Range. I’d like to know how this got its name, but haven’t found any information yet. I’ll keep chasing.

Shifting a bit further along in SA - I was at a very "popular" overnight spot...

The range on the horizon certainly appears to be the SW wall of Wilpena Pound, so perhaps you were at Rawnsley Park. I'm not sure, because the people who currently run that are not high in my popularity stakes.

Zapruda, you must take the trip if you get a chance (for the Chace Range, and for so much else besides).

Your turn for an oops.

This is the full extent of the Chace Range - but as seen from Rawnsley Park - which you have stated correctly.

That's a pretty abysmal 'oops' on my part. So I don't think my speculation about Rawnsley being your viewpoint qualifies me to take the next turn.

I'd say someone else should grab that. Perhaps Zapruda, who expressed an interest the locale. Especially if Zapruda has a shot that's not from NSW?

Re an Arkaba Station "lockdown", I'll have to check that out as I know nothing about it at the moment. It is even possible that I'm confusing Rawnsley and Arkaba, given that my issue with whoever it is goes back a long time, and that they are neighbours! And I live a day and a half's drive from there.

Ok then. In the interest of keeping the game going. Where in NSW? It should be an easy one.

Is that the little tarn on the South face of Koscuizsko, lookking across to Rams Head?

Thanks Crolly, there was quite a bit of bushfire smoke coming from Jagumba that day. It is a little further northeast than Mt K and Rams Head.
