Hi All,
If anybody is interested in bush walking clubs in the Sydney area have a look at:
http://www.sbw.org.au/Sydney Bush Walkers walk all over the place and have a large range of walks, easy through to hard.
Lots of fun!

Thanks for the tip Melinda, 'will definitely look into it. (I was keen to join a club a little while ago but the club most local to me seemed quite exclusive in some respects - i.e., you had to be a minimum of 45 years of age to join!?). SBW sounds great (and I love the info on the website about ultralight walking - I am keen to learn more about UL)!
Thanks again!
Cheers,
JB

Before the arrival of this form (Bushwalk Australia etc) I used to read usernet aus.bushwalking. One of the frequent contributors was a David Springthorpe (I think he was a member of CMW, but it may have been SBW). As far as I can recall, poor David was hounded off aus.bushwalking by some abusive fool. If anyone knows him, let him know about this forum.

Hi Peter,
I have heard of Peter Springthorpe on the aus.bushwalking site, but he's not on the SBW members list.

David Springthorpe is a member (and webmaster) of the Coast and Mountain Walkers, not SBW

Hi wellsy,
You wouldn't happen to be a 'wellsy' from a rather cold part of the Blue Mountains would you??

G'day Melinda,
You guessed correctly if you thought of Blackheath or 'Bleakheath' as it's referred to by some locals.
Saw SBW photos on Hannels Spur. Not too keen on all those caterpillars hanging off Dave's neck!

Hi Wellsy,
Thought it might have been you.
Hannels was magnificent but I don't know that I need to do it again too soon!
Never seen so many caterpillars in my life.
I'm sure all your expertise will be much appreciated here on this forum.
They are a pretty friendly bunch. Very helpful with info.
See you soon.
Melinda
