I walked here. Was staying down next to the fjord below.

There's still very many possible answers, I cant find a picture that exactly matches the one you have put forward Last. I'll take another guess and say it could be around Trollfjord.

You're not terribly far away Greg. Different island. All you can see is one island. At Trollfjorden I was unfortunately confined to the boat.

Okay lets try random island names :) Is it Langoya? Only because I think you or someone else may have posted a pic from there before :?

Solsbury Hill England
Thanks Last, that was a tricky one.
This next one is from England.
I needed a good soak after climbing this hill.

Yes I'm near Bath but looking for the name of the hill I'm on. Those of us who where around in the 70's may recall a musical connection to it.

Hello, hello, hello, what's Mr Wayno up to then?, eh. Been up to no good with some likely lads is it. A few too many Lagers I 'spect.

Close but no cigar. Very inventive answer I must say.
You are however the clubhouse leader at this stage, certainly nearest the pin.

If nobody gets any closer you may well win by default!! God help me.

Technically you are correct on both counts Ribuck.

I still prefer to think of it as Lower South Ben Lomond though...

Thanks GregR.

This photo was taken the day before yesterday, somewhere in the British Isles. Because most other activities are prohibited due to Covid-19, there are long queues in some walking areas. Which summit is everyone approaching?

The only place I've been over there that had crowds like that was Catbells.

Catbells does attract big crowds, GregR, but this peak is more than twice the height of Catbells.

Perhaps you are being cheeky here ??

I'll go with Ben Lomond ( although the wall does look like Slieve Donard in Ireland- except its not quite twice the elevation of Catbells!)

Sorry GregR, it's not Ben Lomond, and it's not in Scotland.

Those who were prepared to wait in the summit queue for 40 minutes got a chance to spend a few seconds on top. We gave up waiting after 20 minutes and settled for touching the base of the summit lump.

I'm stuck! I do live in the UK (I married an English lady), but I'm Australian and spend about 5 months each year bushwalking in Australia. I'd be in Australia now if it wasn't for the travel restrictions.

wobbly wrote:Snowdon?

Correct, wobbly, it's Snowdon in Wales, 1085m. My wife and I were walking coast-to-coast in a day starting from sea level at Caernarfon, summiting Snowdon, and finishing near Porthmadog.

But it's not all crowds. We descended via the next mountain on the Snowdon Range, a delightful 747m peak called Yr Aran, which we had completely to ourselves.

Thanks Ribuck- that's a much better pic :-)
50:50 in England (Europe) and Australia sounds pretty ideal.
Next name this refuge in France

The gap in the teeth was a great clue.
Were you tenting it?

Staying in France ... just. Name of the Refuge below we have just left or the Col we are heading for.

I suspect you have left Refuge Des Mottets and heading to Col de la Seigne. (PS Yes that is my tent in the previous pic, we tented most nights but whenever possible ate and drank at the refuges)
