Had perfect conditions, both day and night. Won't get the same night time conditions for another fortnight or so.

I have two South Coast locations in mind but neither matches the photo exactly in my recollection.
The mountain at the back reminds me of Mt Imlay, so could be Twofold Bay but I don't recall an island.
Also has some resemblance to Tuross Lake further north.

Shelly Point on the Myall Lakes. The walking would be OK but the camping spots along the Lakes are sensational.

Looks dreamy. It's been on my bucket list for a long time, need to make it happen.

Here's a small puzzle. Name the lookout and what I'm looking at. NSW:

I wonder if it's Hassans Walls lookout, perhaps looking towards Mt Blaxland.

Good day John, I think you are looking at the western side of The Gib, maybe from Jellore Lookout?

G'day Greg, that's close enough for me. There are sort of two "Gibs" involved here. I redacted parts of the signage otherwise it would be a giveaway.
I'm at "The Gib Lookout" in Gibbergunyah Reserve between Bowral and Mittagong, looking across to "The Gib" (Mt Gibraltar).
Ninety Acre Hill L/O is a nearby spot facing the distant Blueys that I visited earlier in the day, but the general area is marked as Ninety Acre Hill on the map.
Gibbergunyah Reserve is an interesting small gem that I discovered this winter post lockdown.
You can spend several hours or more wandering the tracks and trails there. A relaxing regional train trip from my place and about 40 min walk from Bowral station.

Thanks John, that west face of MtGib is fairly distinctive, it was harder to work out your viewing point.
This sunset is in Queensland.

This reminds me of coastal Cairns just south of the airport, maybe from Mt Lumley Hill?

These are promising lines of speculation being put forward, Cairns is too far north though.

For the benefit of those speculating on the direction of sunset I can say that this picture was taken mid February.
