Lyrebird gully to cowan. still nice?

Postby wildwanderer » Sun 27 Dec, 2020 10:53 am

It's been a few years since I've done this.

Is the gully still rain forest or did the bushfires/hazard reductions go through there and the place is now burnt out/recovering?

Hey wildwanderer,

Lyrebird gully was untouched by any fire (I don't recall any fire through there in over 20 years). The track is well used, so some erosion and damage. The large rain event last February flooded the gully, sweeping away much of the vegetation, but recovery has been good - if anything weeds are taking over some areas. Well worth the walk. I last did it mid November.
