Hornsby - Berowra firing range

Postby Tantell » Tue 08 Feb, 2022 1:08 pm

Hi all, just seeking some updated advice if possible. Looking to do the Hornsby - Berowra walk, and on AllTrails the track follows the creek behind the firing range (on satelite view, appears to be bottom of the 'gorge' with the firing range higher. Wildwalks indicates the detour back to to the streets an passing infront.
If anyone has some updated info that would be great - i'd prefer to follow the creek track, but appreciate if this is now closed.
Cheers
Shaun

Hi there Tantell
Yes the creek track is closed for safety reasons but remains visible and you can follow the pad at your own risk
There is a creek crossing at the south end, the northern 2/3 is on the eastern side of Berowra creek and ends at the bailey bridge in the north.
Nice section of bush

I was a regular walker along that track when I lived in the area and although I have not walked it for several years the geography will not have changed. The track is perfectly safe to walk at any time. The notices are merely a bureaucratic exercise.

Yeah the topography looks pretty good. Might make a judgement call on the day.
