I thought someone else might jump in but looks not. I believe this is in Namche Bazaar, Nepal at the statue of the renowned Tenzing Norgay GM OSN.

Well John, it seems you are pretty much on the money.

It is indeed the Tenzing Norgay statue with the somewhat ironic caption "Do not climb" emblazoned on it, and the scene of his fame in the background (sorta- I think I just managed to cut Everest out of the background))

Yet again it is Johns go.

Thank you Mr Greg, I wondered if Everest was there somewhere.

This one is a bit too obscure/remote for accuracy, so just name the US state where I was canoeing:

It is, but I'm even further away. You are probably about 70% closer though.

Well done Greg. Yes it was beautifully gloomy and atmospheric. Paddled to a remote cabin in the woods on this lake maybe an hours drive from Ketchikan.
I can't remember if the lake was named. They kept telling me not to wander far from the cabin as grizzlies were nearby.

Clue: It's on an Island and the locals have a trick up their sleeve, they send the Gaelic Footballers over play in our Football league.

Your clues are way to obscure for me, but I will guess the Isle of Skye (looks a bit familiar) and the Quairaing.

Yeah I haven't actually walked them but all the photos I've seen have that look about them. Which Swiss peak is in view (or where am I, bit harder)?
