Yeah, I was moving at good pace through that section actually SBS.....and all the way through to New Pelion Hut too; slowed up significantly on my way to Pelion Gap and then summiting that day though

Looks like you could be at the Gordon River crossing en route to lake Rhona SBS?
...tho all rivers do look similar so I could be wrong?
Fri 25 Jun, 2010 3:47 pm
Not The Gordon but a very often walked across river....
Fri 25 Jun, 2010 4:14 pm
Cracroft Crossing?
Fri 25 Jun, 2010 4:43 pm
Crossed more often than the Cracroft............further North
Fri 25 Jun, 2010 7:47 pm
Tyenna? Theres a road going over that, so i'd say that'd be crossed more than cracroft.....
Fri 25 Jun, 2010 9:30 pm
Not Tyenna but does have a mountain named after it....

I agree with ILUVSWTAS, saw this pic earlier but didn't have time to post.
Definitely has a Styx R. feel to it, from my one visit.

Not the Styx.
Has a MAJOR walking track crossing it some 50-odd metres beyond the log(which has been there at least 3 years) and there is a MAJOR feature 50-odd metres behind me.....

Could this be the Mersey? Near Hartnett Falls - although I don't tend to think of the track through the Never Never as major..

Indeed, not the Mersey - this spot is within 20 mins of a hot chocolate, cold beer.......

Well - maybe you are near Watersmeet on the Platypus Bay track with Lake St Clair behind?
Sat 26 Jun, 2010 1:15 pm
Close enough - Hugel River between the bridge at Watersmeet and the lake - thought the log would give it away - I've been to this spot a few times - good way to get away from the crowds when spending time up there,

Funny how the chocolate gave it away...

- View north from the top of the Harnett Falls

Haven't been down there so probably wrong - Dove Canyon?
Sat 26 Jun, 2010 4:08 pm
Kia Ora Falls?
Sat 26 Jun, 2010 5:03 pm
Neither Dove nor KiaOra.
The trick here is if you have been following recent post discussion.

Hartnett Falls? I was confused
Sat 26 Jun, 2010 5:54 pm
Yes - this is the Mersey River going over Hartnett Falls on its way to Fergusson and D'Alton Falls

I should label my album photos.
Anyway, where is this wally?
Sat 26 Jun, 2010 7:43 pm
Is wally standing in the Pieman River?
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 8:22 am
Not the Pieman River.
A hint. The mountain is worth above average peak bagging points.
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 7:44 pm
are you in new river lagoon?
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 7:51 pm
That was my initial thought Jared, I just cant place the mtn though, it surely not PB?? Could be the Ironbound but where on earth is he coming from or going.... provis hills?? hehehe
Still, The Ironbounds are worth 3 pts, more than average so you may be right

Wally is about to have a wash-all. This means fresh water. More hints later.
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 8:23 pm
A bit of a wild guess as I have not been there.
But could the peak be a view of Pindars (with the main peak obscured) from South Cape Rivulet?
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 8:24 pm
Cant see pindars from SCR. Also its more salty than fresh water in there.
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 8:44 pm
A new hint.
The water has the same name as the mountain.
