Not Murchison, although 4 pts.
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 9:05 pm
Louisa?
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 9:21 pm
pazzar, you have it.
Looking NE to Mt Louisa. (3pts)
The pic is from about 300m NE of the usual spot at Louisa Bay, where Wally found deep fresh water in Louisa River.

St Valentine's Peak from Hounslow Heath?
The road over the ridge in the distance is probably the Cradle Development road
Edit - that is wrong - there is a hut in the bottom right corner. Probably from Mt Campbell?

Yes it is St Valentines peak, but not from Honslow Heath.
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:04 pm
Yes - crossed in edit - revised to Mt Campbell
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:08 pm
not mt campbell. I think the hut may belong to the scouts
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:09 pm
Wrong again - just looked at a photo from Marian's lookout and it look a better fit.
The hut would be part of Waldheim Chalet complex.

asbestos ranges? looks like you are close to the coast, or is the water playing tricks on me?
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:37 pm
Looking at what's in the water will give some clues
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:40 pm
that could be any number of lakes - but does resemble Gordon
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 10:50 pm
Not Lake Gordon - farther North - there are a series of lakes in this area - but this track is pretty steep..
Sun 27 Jun, 2010 11:04 pm
hmmm is it a hydro lake? That would mean you are either in the Rosebery area, which it does not look like -or could it be one of the dams on the forth or mersey?

Looks like you might be on the Lake Myrtle track Eggs with Lake Rowallan below.

I suppose it is the trees.
Was there date after which trees were felled before reservoirs were filled?
Or did it vary from place to place?

Hmmm beach shots.... Wheres Stu when you need him.
Kinda looks a little like Eaglehawk beach?
Mon 28 Jun, 2010 12:43 pm
Not Eaglehawk. Other end of the island! I'll be out for a few hours. If anyone thinks they know have a go!

Not any beach I recognise SW...
Not Marrawah (Greens Beach) & doesn't looki like NE Tas (ie. North of St Helens);
must be on the NW coast somewhere I'd presume (looks like a typical Bass Strait wind swell).
All my assumptions could be wrong however...???

Might be Baker's Beach.

I'm thinking it might also be Bakers Beach looking towards Badger Head (headland)

The suggestions look pretty good - but the angle suggests he is zooming in from Point Sorrell - one place my wife has been where I have not.
Mon 28 Jun, 2010 3:45 pm
Nah you wouldn't get this view from there if it is Baker's Beach I reckon Phil's on the money.
Mon 28 Jun, 2010 4:18 pm
I'm back! On the money Phil. Badgers Beach looking towards West Head.
