Cape Willoughby from Lesueur Conservation Park Kangaroo Island, I nearly going to put this first choice.

This was rather featureless in one way - but I think the clue is the small island you can make out just past the point.
That would probably make it Cape De Couedic in Flinders Chase NP.
This would be viewing it from the north - which most people would not do. It would normally be viewed from the east at Remarkable Rocks.

When I first looked I thought I could see land in the distance but on looking closer, I was wrong, there are also no trees, and Cape Willoughby has no Island near, so it could be Cape De Couedic as you suggest Eggs.

Great place kangaroo Island, plan to go back for a long holiday when I retire.

Sorry Tony, other end of the island. Yes Eggs you are correct, Cape De Couedic in Flinders Chase Nat Park at the western end of Kangaroo Island, viewed from the north along the Flinders Chase Coastal Trek. I didn't want to make it too easy. Back to you again :)

I was just about to say this, that will teach me for having a lunch break.

Anyone else spot the lighthouse. Certainly made the search easier when coupled with the extra clues.

Grampians, um, Mt Stapylton. The cliff has a name, but I cant remember and I don't have a topo map here to check. Popular with rock climbers.

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

That will do.
It is on the amazing skyline walk from Hollow Mountain to Mt Stapylton - which is the high point ahead.
A remarkable maze of highly eroded sandstone - with a few major crevices to cross.
The orange slightly overhanging cliff is known as the Taipan Wall.

I wonder if we can include anyone else in our tag team effort...

I presume from your photo you have walked this, brave man you are!

OK, lets head to the west, to a national park in Western Australia. There is walking hereabouts, but this particular view is only a few hundred metres from the carpark.

Napier Range near Windjana Gorge?

Re: Game: Where-is-it (Aussie)

Too easy John. Top work.

Napier Range - an ancient barrier reef rising high above the plains around it. Windjana Gorge National Park in the Kimberley of Western Australia.

Fortunately you have a very good blog! Lots of nice trips in there . My only visit to WA was more years ago than I care to remember. A mate and I drove across the Nullarbor soon after the road was sealed. Mainly looked around the SW but did get up to Geraldton at one point. I can see that many more places need to be added to my impossibly long wish list!

Next one is in NSW. Where is it/what is it?

Hi John,

I hope I do not make a fool of myself here but a guess is Muellers Peak (from the eastern side), Kosciuszko National park.

Not Muellers Tony, but you are not too far away.

could it be the Sentinel ?

Yes, it's The Sentinel on the main range in Kosciuszko National Park, near the start of the climb up to the summit. If you look closely at the photo above you can just make out the trig at the top. There's a tricky bit to negotiate approx. where it was taken but we found a way around it. It's a strange climb as The Sentinel is much lower than nearby peaks but presents more of a challenge than most of them. You actually tackle quite a big descent just before this (see below to put it in context). But some great views from the top once you get there.

Over to you Isoma...

Hi John,

I did not think it looked right to be Muellers Peak, I have not been to the Sentinel yet.

An easy one from Qld as I'll be away for the day. Name as many peaks as you can for extra points.

A complete stab in the dark as I have no idea, Mt Barney in the McPherson Ranges.

I'll pay that Tony - the peak that most people would climb as the summit of Barney is East Peak which is in cloud at the back. It's actually 8m lower than the West Peak though which is a bit harder to get to (the higher peak in the foreground, with Bippoh on Midget ridge leading up to it). The other peaks at the back are Leaning Peak (not quite so impressive from this angle) with North Peak behind it.

Thanks isoma, lucky guess as I really had no idea, I did a web search for mountains Queensland and Mt Barney drew my attention as it looked a bit like your photo.

I will now have to find a suitable photo, will post soon.

Hi Tony,
The shadow is throwing me a bit but I'll say it's The (Central) Ramshead in Kosciuszko NP. If not I suspect it could be North Ramshead although doesn't quite look right (last time I visited it was in a whiteout).

Hi John,

I thought this would be an easy one.

You are right with your second guess, it is North Rams Head the photo was taken very early in the morning from an unnamed hill between Rams Head and North Rams Head, the hill is actually higher than North Rams Head. We had camped at the base of Rams Head the night before, best camp site I have ever camped at.

Over to you John.

Thanks Tony. I really enjoy walking through the Ramshead Range, one of my favourite parts of KNP. Nice open alpine terrain with all those interesting rock formations (nunataks I think is the correct geological term). I've done some longish day walks through there on to Lake Cootapatamba and other parts of the range. And you get away from the hordes on the summit walk. Pity it's not closer to home or I'd be there every weekend.

Someone should get the next one fairly easily. Also in NSW (name of the foreground feature and location):

Not the Jamison Valley juju, but it is in the Blue Mountains region. I'm looking for the name of the rock and the local mountain range.
