TIP: The online
Bushwalk Inventory System can help bushwalkers with a variety of bushwalk planning tasks, including: Manage which items they take bushwalking so that they do not forget anything they might need, plan meals for their walks, and automatically compile food/fuel shopping lists (lists of consumables) required to make and cook the meals for each walk. It is particularly useful for planning for groups who share food or other items, but is also useful for individual walkers.

I been reading a few posts of late in regards to GPS units for use out bushwalking. I thought I'll mention the GPS unit I choose to use, It's called a TwoNav Sportiva. It's very light weight including Battery 134 grams. It uses Raster Maps which mean you can use digital Topo Maps and your own Paper Maps can be calibrated to use with the software package that is supplied with the Unit.
