Its rare for WM to be on sale because all the 20-30% off sales I've seen usually exclude WM

Looks like you must have missed the Paddy Palins sale John, I also saw it listed on-line as $399 at PP's a week or 2 ago.

If you are not prepared to buy on-line from the US and don't want to pay $600 (why would you when you can buy it and have it delivered for less than $250!?), then you will need to look at an alternative, but $250 for a summerlite is a seriously good deal for a great bag.

Years ago in the late 70's I used to have an excellent Egge double bag made up of two, goose down, sewn through bags which had overlapping seams when the inner was slipped into the outer. I sold it to Lincoln Hall for one of his Himalayan debacles but always wished i had kept it.Two years ago I bought a 500g Katmandu mummy bag with a chest zip and a 500g Mountain designs inner bag with a full side zip. The MD bag is actually quite large and I found it easily possible to slip the Kat bag inside the MD with plenty of room to spare. I have used the combination on a number of trips to Tassie, in 0 degree conditions and found it works well. On warmer nights I simply use the MD either as a bag or a quilt and in colder conditions I use both. Together they weigh 1kg and pack far smaller than most single bags. Its sounds sort of complicated but it works for me.

I camped up at Mount Stirling on the weekend and my 12 year (lean) son, and he slept in two sleeping bags and stayed very warm. Both down bags (Marmot and Golite) are rated down to 4 degrees and the temperature got down to -3 degrees. The combined weight is only 1.2 kg and being in two bags are easier to pack than one larger bag.

I slept in Malachowski bag for the first time. The bag weighs only 700 g and was warm enough. I got a bit cold on the the hips but packing up in the morning I realised my Thermarest could have had more air.

We both slept with buff - which was great - especially for a person that struggles to keep a hood on. We also used 3mm evazote underlay - based on the advice from this site.

This is the first time I've heard of the brand so I looked them up. Did you buy from Globewalker online? Which bag do you have? The prices are pretty good. Would be good if they had something between 300g and 1000g of fill.

The quality appears very good. It has an amazing amount of loft when you take it out of the stuff sack. The zip is close to full length and works smoothly.

The stuff sack and storage sack are good as well.

It does have an internal strip thermometer near the top of zip.

There are very few material specifications for the bag - even on the manufacturers web site. The weight advertised (600 g) are for the medium size bag. I bought a large size and in its stuff sack it weighed just over 700 g. The advertised dimensions matched the bag well.

I had found a good review for another model of their sleeping bags and polish down is meant to be of the highest quality.

What are your thoughts on the Sea to Summit Micro Mc II Sleeping Bag, it's only 2c but I think that's all I really need, when I wear my thermals and maybe some extra cloths if it really gets cold.

It's only 550 grams as well, though not sure about the lengths and pricing and weight.

Just trying to get a bag thats available in Australia. at a decent price.

Have you looked at the Macpac express ranges? they have more down than the bags you are looking at (and therefore maybe a bit warm for your needs?) but you'll get more year-round use..

The bonus point system allows you to apply points against the item purchased effectively giving you a discount. I don't know if they have exceptions such as the WM products ? Anyway the Summerlite Regular has 38 points which is $38 off or you could apply the points to buying some cool stuff BTW Moontrail don't ship WM to Oz so you'd need to use a freight forwarder or ship via a pal in the US.
