Close enough. Probably a bit SE of the summit of Mersey Crag.

There are clues in the foreground. Not in the NE. In hindsight I suspect I have used this pic before.

Men wanted for hazardous journey. Low wages, bitter cold, long hours of complete darkness. Safe return doubtful.

well he obviously knew where it was but hadn't named it, but I suggested he should post. You are the first to name it correctly. Youse will have to sort it out. I suggest feathers at dawn.

If he hasn't posted in the next hour, I will.
Then he'll get it straight away anyway...

Nah you go tortie. I haven't been able to get out to capture anything new for 15months so this is how I get my fix. I'm still marvelling at how similar those 2 mini ranges are. I never noticed it before. Sth hobhouse looks worth a visit.
Nothing to see here.

I can relate to getting your fix playing the game.

I went up Hobhouse via a slightly circuitous route close to but not to south Hobhouse. Unfortunately it was a winters day and time was against me so I couldn't go all the way but it did look interesting. Would love to go back.

What is the ridge like from there to the summit?

it was very rocky where I hit the ridgeline but I quickly ended up on coral fern flats which I followed till I ascended the summit. Looking at the map again I was not as close to south hobhouse as i thought.

Nope. No Loyetea either.
Right part of the state, though.

Closer again, but no.
Edit: There's a good view of Roland from parts of this Range.

Might help to identify the Abel in view. I won't be annoyed if I get a barrage of questions.
