Sugarloaf Hill Circuit

Starting from the Cleland Conservation Park car park just off Mount Lofty Summit Road, Cleland, this circuit walk takes you past Sugarloaf Hill via the Long Ridge, Chambers Gully and Bartrill Spur tracks. The fauna within the park includes a variety of birdlife, as well as echidnas, southern brown bandicoots, kangaroos and koalas. This hike starts along a gravel road leading to the Long Ridge Lookout on top of Sugarloaf Hill. From the lookout, there are wonderful views over Adelaide to the coast and a couple of benches where you can rest and enjoy the view. The hike then returns down Sugarloaf Hill and enters the Chambers Gully Track, a narrow dirt track that winds its way through the bushes along the foot of the hill. Chambers Gully joins Bartrill Spur, following the creek through a lush green gully to complete the circuit. There are some gentle inclines and uneven surfaces along this hike. Some sections can get muddy and slippery after rain. The tracks are well-formed and aren't overly technical, suited for most ages and fitness levels. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
Starting from the signposted corner of the Cleland Wildlife Park Carpark, head towards the metal gate with “GATE:30” sign on it, moving directly away from the car park. Pass through the little gap next to the gate and follow the fire trail into the forest as it veers left to continue along Sugarloaf Hill Circuit.....

	After another 25 m pass the "Sugarloaf Hill" (on your right).
	After another 190 m turn sharp right, to head along Chambers Gully Walking Trail. After another 630 m head through/around the gate. At the intersection of Chambers Gully Track & Chambers Gully Walking Trail continue straight, to head along Chambers Gully Track (a vehicle track).
	After another 700 m continue straight, to head along Chambers Gully Track. After another 10 m (at the intersection of Bartrill Spur Track & Chambers Gully Track) continue straight, to head along Bartrill Spur Track. After another 275 m cross the ford. After another 370 m cross the ford. After another 280 m (at the intersection of Bartrill Spur Track & Kirrang Track) continue straight, to head along Bartrill Spur Track. After another 540 m cross the ford. After another 250 m cross the ford. After another 335 m cross the ford. After another 350 m cross the ford. After another 135 m cross the ford.
	After another 810 m (at the intersection of Long Ridge Track & Bartrill Spur Track) turn left, to head along Long Ridge Track.
	After another 260 m continue straight.
	After another 95 m come to the end.
