Closed areas: Temporary Closure of Barrington Tops Forest RoadBarrington Tops Forest Road joining Gloucester and Scone will be partially closed with detours in place Wednesday 11 September 2024, from 7:00am to 5:00pm.
Road closure is needed for public safety during a feral animal control program.
The road will be closed between Honeysuckle and Tubrabucca Road during the above times. A signed detour is available via Pheasants Creek Road/Tubrabucca Road. Expect to add at least 30mins travel time to the trip across Barrington Tops.
An alternative route is also available via Tomalla Road.

Track surfaces may be muddy and uneven so take care.

Closed areas: Notice of Aerial Shooting for Feral Animal Control - Barrington Tops National ParkThe NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) will conduct an aerial shoot for feral animal control operation from
Monday 2 to Friday 27 September 2024 (including weekend days) in Barrington Tops National Park.
The below visitor areas and campgrounds on the Barrington Tops plateau area will be closed during this period, including:
- Polblue campground and day use area
- Little Murray campground
- Junction Pools campground
- Black Swamp campground
- Wombat Creek campground
- Careys Peak lookout
- Barrington Trail day use area
- Barrington Trail (south) including Little Murray Trail and Junction Pools Trail
- Narrow Plain Trail
- Aeroplane Hill Trail (including Big Hole Trail)

[email protected]Closed areas: Burraga Swamp Walk ClosedBurraga Swamp walking track is currently inaccessible to vehicles due to closure of Mt Allyn Rd. Forestry Corporation of NSW has closed the road due to a failed bridge. The reopening date is not known at this stage. For more information, phone Gloucester NPWS Office on 02 6538 5300.
Closed areas: Phytophthora quarantine area - Barrington Tops National ParkPhytophthora is a mould that causes dieback in plants. It's been found on the plateau in Barrington Tops National Park, predominantly on the Watergauge trail between Beean Beean and Black Swamp. The affected area is under quarantine with absolutely no visitor access.
Phytophthora is readily spread by mud carried by walkers' shoes and mountain-bike tyres. There are boot wash stations across the plateau for walkers to use, to ensure their boots 'Start clean, Stay clean'.
