Starting from Delicia Road, Gheerulla, this walk takes you on a circuit in the Mapleton National Park, visiting Gheerulla Falls and following the same-titled creek along the way. There are multiple campsites spread along the track that allows you to make this an overnight walk. Expect a satisfactory creekside hike half the way, then a decent ascent taking you into a different type of vegetation and environment. The Gheerulla Falls are best viewed after decent rainfall, forming a lovely swimming hole for you to jump in below. You’ll have a chance to view the picturesque valley from the various lookouts throughout the track. Keep an ear out for bellbirds, owls and kookaburras. If you’re planning on staying the night, remember to place a booking beforehand. At roundabout, take exit 2 onto Bli Bli Road, 23 and drive for another 1 km
Turn left onto Coronation Avenue and drive for another 1.3 km
Turn right onto Price Street and drive for another 880 m
Keep left and drive for another 60 m
Continue onto Nambour Mapleton Road, 23 and drive for another 10.4 km
Turn right onto Obi Obi Road and drive for another 125 m
Turn right onto Delicia Road and drive for another 4.6 km

Getting started From Delicia Road(just west of the Pencil Creek Road intersection), head towards the gate that is marked by a green signpost along the dirt path. Head over/around the gate to join the singular walking track that takes you deeper into the woodland. Follow the said track as it leads you towards Gheerulla Falls to continue along Gheerulla Creek Circuit(counterclockwise). This is the described direction of travel and features a steep ascent.....

After another 1.3 km (at the intersection of Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk & Gheerulla Falls Access Track) turn left, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This side trip takes you to a viewpoint near the Ubajee Walkers Camp. Can add more than an hour to your trip. To start this optional side trip veer right here. On returning from this side trip error >360 when you get back to this intersection. Details below.
After another 340 m (at the intersection of Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk & Great Walk) turn left, to head along Great Walk.
The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This side trip takes you to the Gheerulla Campground, crossing the creek along the way. Keep left at the end to find the campsite. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip error >360 when you get back to this intersection. Details below.
After another 6.2 km continue straight, to head along Great Walk.
After another 230 m (at the intersection of Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk (Sam Kelly Road Exit) & Great Walk) turn left, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk (a footpath).
After another 2.7 km pass the "Mount Thilba Thalba" (25 m on your right).
After another 305 m come to the "Thilba Thalba Viewpoint" (105 m on your left).
Continue straight, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
After another 1.4 km come to the "Thilba Thalba Walkers Camp".
After another 45 m come to the viewpoint (20 m on your left).
Continue straight, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.

After another 2.5 km turn sharp right, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
After another 3.3 km (at the intersection of Delicia Road & Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk) veer left, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
After another 130 m continue straight, to head along Sunshine Coast Hinterland Great Walk.
After another 800 m come to the end.
This little side trip takes you to Gheerulla Falls, where you can cool off in the rock pool formed by the waterfall.
