Closed areas: Closed areas: Yuraygir National Park Bitou Control Program - Aerial SprayBitou bush will be sprayed by helicopter with the herbicide Metsun (metsulfuron-methyl 600) between 26 May 2025 and 5 June 2025 in Yuraygir National Park. Some national park beaches and headlands will be temporarily closed during the helicopter operation for public safety. The Yuraygir Coastal Walk will also be closed.
The areas treated have dense or large bitou bush infestations that are not accessible using other treatment methods. This program is part of a systematic weed control program throughout Yuraygir National Park.
Areas Treated will include:
- Station Creek Beach and sections of Freshwater Beach
- Wooli Beach/Minnie Water Back Beach
- Sandon Beach, Grey Cliffs and to the north and south of Lake Arragan
Signage will be in place and NPWS staff will advise of the closure and secure the treatment sites on the day. The program is weather dependent and takes only one (1) day to complete in favourable weather conditions. Each site will be closed for a period of up to 3 hours.

Closed areas: Rocky Point track steps closedRocky Point walking track stairs are closed from Monday 1 July 2024 to Monday 30 June 2025 for upgrade works.

Other planned events: 1080 baiting operationNSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an ongoing ground baiting program in Yuraygir National Park from Monday 30 December 2024 to Thursday 31 July 2025.
The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes. It's designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

Closed areas: Yellow Cutting Road partial closureThe section of Yellow Cutting Road between Newfoundland Road and Bald Knob Tick Gate Road in Yuraygir National Park is closed until further notice due to a bridge defect.
