Getting started
From the car park, this walk follows the sign to 'Grose Valley Lookout' down the hill. The walk then winds down some steps for approximately 50m to a lookout.....

An optional side trip to Victoria Falls.

	Start. There is a toilet (about 25 m back from the start). 24/7 Victoria Falls Car Park (about 15 m back from the start).
	After another 125 m turn left, to head along Victoria Falls Walking Track. After another 55 m find the "Victoria Falls Lookout" (on your right). Victoria Falls Lookout Victoria Falls Lookout, Blue Mountains NP, has an easterly aspect over the Grose Valley. Although the lookout is named after the wonderful Victoria Falls, there are no views of the falls from this lookout. Then come to the "Grose Valley Lookout" (6 m on your right).
	After another 1.6 km turn sharp left, to head along Victoria Falls Walking Track. After another 25 m pass the sign (on your left).
	Continue straight, to head along Victoria Falls Walking Track. After another 15 m pass the sign (on your right).
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip to Victoria Falls. To start this optional side trip continue straight here. On returning from this side trip veer right when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 220 m turn sharp left. After another 1.4 km come to the "Burra Korain Flat Camping Area". Burra Korain Flat Camping Area Burra Korain Flat Camping Area, Blue Mountains NP, is a small clearing between the Victoria Creek and Grose River. The campsite is well signposted and has nice sitting logs and plenty of space for a few tents. Water can be accessed from either river or creek but should be treated before use. After another 120 m come to the "Burra Korain Camping Area" (15 m on your left).
	After another 3.8 km turn right. After another 1.2 km cross the bridge (about 15 m long) After another 1.7 km cross the bridge (about 8 m long) After another 880 m cross the bridge (about 15 m long) After another 600 m cross the bridge (about 10 m long)
	After another 690 m (at the intersection of Perrys Track & Shortridge Pass) continue straight, to head along Blue Gum Forest Track. After another 90 m pass the sign (9 m on your right). After another 420 m come to the "Acacia Flat Campground" (15 m on your right). W:www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au This is a free campsite. After another 50 m find the "Acacia Flats Camping Ground" (45 m on your left). Acacia Flats Camping Ground Acacia Flats Camping Ground, Blue Mountains NP, is situated on the floor of the Grose Valley between Perrys Lookdown and Lockley Pylon. The camp ground is approximately 50m from Govetts Creek and approximately 500m upstream from Blue Gum Forest. Acacia Flats Camping Ground is appropriately named after the dense population of Acacias found in this area. Acacia Flats is a wonderful area to camp with tall shady Blue Gums and level grass clearings which make for a great place to pitch a tent. There is a pit toilet and sitting logs to make camping more comfortable, and plenty of room for large groups. Water is available from Govetts Creek (treat before drinking). After another 125 m pass the toilet (9 m on your left). After another 110 m pass the toilet (10 m on your right).
	After another 2.8 km continue straight, to head along Blue Gum Forest Track. After another 75 m cross the ford.
	At the intersection of Blue Gum Forest Track & Rodriguez Pass Walking Track continue straight, to head along Rodriguez Pass Walking Track. After another 45 m find the "Junction Rock" (15 m on your left). Junction Rock Junction Rock, Blue Mountains NP, is a rock situated in the middle of the Govetts Leap Brook and Govetts Creek junction. The rock is signposted, giving directions to Evans Lookout, Neates Glen, Acacia Flats and the Blue Gum Forest. Junction Rock is a great place for lunch and a swim in summer. After another 560 m come to the camp site (5 m on your left). After another 1.2 km cross the ford. After another 10 m pass the "Trinity Falls" (35 m on your right). After another 155 m cross the ford. After another 380 m cross the ford.
	After another 95 m (at the intersection of Jungle Circuit & Govetts Leap Track (Williams Track)) continue straight, to head along Govetts Leap Track (Williams Track). After another 380 m come to the viewpoint (30 m on your right). After another 150 m come to the "Williams Lookout". After another 30 m come to the "Breakfast Rock Lookout".
	After another 25 m (at the intersection of Loop Track & Govetts Leap Track (Williams Track)) continue straight, to head along Loop Track.
	After another 125 m (Laws Lookout) veer left, to head along Pulpit Rock Track. After another 10 m come to the "Laws Lookout".
	After another 10 m continue straight, to head along Pulpit Rock Track.
	After another 155 m continue straight, to head along Pulpit Rock Track. After another 8 m find the "Horseshoe Falls Lookout" (25 m on your right). Horseshoe Falls Lookout Horseshoe Falls Lookout, Blue Mountains National Park, is a small fenced lookout. There are views down to Horseshoe Falls and across the Grose Valley. After another 60 m come to the "Rodriguez Lookout".
	After another 90 m (at the intersection of Popes Glen Track & Pulpit Rock Track) continue straight, to head along Popes Glen Track.
	After another 305 m continue straight, to head along Popes Glen Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip to Boyd Beach. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip continue straight when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 15 m turn sharp left, to head along Popes Glen Track. 	After another 410 m (at the intersection of Dell Street & Popes Glen Track) veer left, to head along Dell Street (a residential road).
	After another 280 m (at the intersection of Gipps Lane & Wills Street) turn right, to head along Gipps Lane.
	After another 450 m (at the intersection of Wills Street & Inconstant Street) continue straight, to head along Wills Street.
	After another 70 m (at the intersection of Gardiner Crescent & Wills Street) turn right, to head along Gardiner Crescent.
	After another 55 m (at the intersection of Gardiner Crescent & Wentworth Street) continue straight, to head along Gardiner Crescent. After another 30 m continue straight, to head along Gardiner Crescent.
	After another 30 m (at the intersection of Gardiner Crescent & Hydora Lane) continue straight, to head along Gardiner Crescent.
	After another 70 m (at the intersection of Great Western Highway & Gardiner Crescent) turn left, to head along Great Western Highway (a highway\|trunk).
	After another 20 m continue straight, to head along Great Western Highway. After another 45 m come to the end.
	Start.
	After another 35 m come to the end. About 60 m past the end is "Victoria Falls". Victoria Falls Victoria Falls, Blue Mountains NP, is a large waterfall dropping over a grey rock overhang. The cascade is produced by Victoria Creek dropping over the approximately-15m cliffs. A scree slope leads up behind the falls, and below the falls the rocks are very slippery. These falls are well worth a visit, with the great views from the top of the falls, and the accessibility of the bottom of the falls, making a great trip. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 35 m to the main route.

Victoria Falls Lookout

Blue Gum Forest
Blue Gum Forest, Blue Mountains NP, is a large stand of Eucalyptus deanei trees on the junction of the Grose River and Govetts Creek. The magnificent trees stand tall on the flats with low vegetation beneath. The trees of Blue Gum Forest represent the protection efforts of Myles Dunphy, who lead a group to raise the 130 pounds required to buy the Blue Gum Forest - quite a sum in 1931 during the depression - and save it from being cleared. The group were successful and the Blue Gum Forest is now protected within the Blue Mountains National Park.

Acacia Flats Camping Ground
Acacia Flats Camping Ground, Blue Mountains NP, is situated on the floor of the Grose Valley between Perrys Lookdown and Lockley Pylon. Govetts Leap (falls)
Govetts Leap, is a waterfall in the Blue Mountains National Park. The fall is fed by Govetts Leap Brook which runs over the cliff into the Grose Valley. The falls are best viewed from Govetts Leap and Barrow Lookouts. Leap is a scots dialect word for cataract or waterfall.

Govetts Leap Lookout
Govetts Leap Lookout is named after the first European man to have enjoyed this view, William Govett, as an assistant surveyor in June 1831. Govetts Leap Lookout offers wonderful views over the Grose Valley and the spectacular Bridal Falls. The word `leap` is an old Scottish word meaning waterfall. The lookout is easily accessed from the car park, there are also toilets and picnic shelters nearby.

Horseshoe Falls Lookout
Horseshoe Falls Lookout, Blue Mountains National Park, is a small fenced lookout. There are views down to Horseshoe Falls and across the Grose Valley.

Horseshoe Falls
Horseshoe Falls, Blue Mountains National Park, are sourced by Popes Glen Creek which runs over the cliff into the Grose Valley. The Horseshoe Falls seem to be named after the shape of the valley into which they drop.

Boyd Beach

  Mt Hay Road is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles from Lockley Pylon on Tuesday 10 September 2024 for helicopter operations.

  Many roads, fire trails and walking tracks within Blue Mountains National Park are closed due to infrastructure upgrades or damage caused by wet weather including subsidence, rockfalls, landslides and fallen trees.

  Mt Hay Road is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles from Lockley Pylon Tuesday 10th September for helicopter operations. No access to Mt Hay or Butterbox walking tracks/canyon. Lockley Pylon walking track remains open.
  
  Giant Stairway is closed between Lady Game lookout and Dardanelles Pass from Thursday 29 August to the end of September 2024. Access out of the valley is via Furber Steps or Amphitheatre track.
  
  Honeymoon Bridge is closed due to rockfall risk.
  
  Fern Bower track between Prince Henry Cliff walk (Grand Cliff Top walk) and the Amphitheatre track is closed due to multiple landslides. The Amphitheatre Track is Open.
  
  Ruined Castle, Golden Stairs, Solitary loop and Federal Pass, west of Scenic World are closed due to multiple landslides.
  
  Lone Lyrebird track is closed between Gordon Road and the War Memorial, due to subsidence. Detour is in place.
  
  Prince Henry Cliff walk (part of Grand Cliff Top walk) is closed between Gordon Falls picnic area and Elysian Rock lookout, due to a landslide. Visit the Blue Mountains City Council website for information.
  
  Part of Lindeman Pass is closed due to a major landslide below Gladstone lookout. Roberts Pass is closed due to rockfall and landslide hazards.
  
  Six Foot track is affected by closures at Jenolan Caves.
  
  Wentworth Falls and Woodford
  
  Valley of the Waters track is closed below Nature track junction due to trackwork. There is no access to Empress Canyon, Empress Falls, Sylvia Falls, Roberts Pass, Vera Falls, Hippocrene Falls or Wentworth Falls from Valley of the Waters.
  
  Charles Darwin walk (part of Grand Cliff Top walk) is closed between Fletcher Street and Weeping Rock. Detours are in place to provide directions to Wentworth Falls picnic area. Visit the Blue Mountains City Council website for information.
  
  Part of National Pass (west of Wentworth Falls middle crossing) is closed due to a major landslide and ongoing risks.
  
  Wentworth Pass and Slack Stairs are closed due to multiple landslides.
  
  Bedford Creek and Andersons fire trail will be closed Monday to Friday until Friday 27 September 2024 to allow for roadworks. There'll be no access to vehicles, pedestrians or cyclists from Anderson fire trail or Murphys Road to Ingar campground. There is also no exit to Woodford from Andersons fire trail. Trails and campgrounds will be open on Saturday and Sunday. Ingar campground is open on Saturday night only.
  
  Blackheath, Mount Victoria and Bells Line of Road
  
  Mt Banks Road, picnic area and walking tracks are closed on weekdays until Monday 23 September 2024 for roadworks. The road will be open on weekends.
  
  Point Pilcher Rd is closed to pedestrians, cyclists and vehicles Wednesday 11th September for helicopter operations. No access to Juggler canyon due to hazard reduction burn in the area.
  
  Horse Track is closed Wednesday 11th September for helicopter operations. Alternative access to Acacia flat is available via Perrys Lookdown or Lockley Pylon.
  
  Williams track (Govetts descent) and Rodriguez Pass are closed due to rockfalls and landslides.
  
  Pulpit Rock Reserve, lookouts and walking track are closed. Visit the Blue Mountains City Council website for information. Pulpit Rock walking track from Popes Glen is open as far as the NPWS boundary (as shown on Google maps).
  
  Adventure recreation, canyons, abseiling and rock climbing
  Some adventure recreation areas and routes are specifically closed where the access or exit road/track is mentioned above.

  The Oberon-Colong Stock Route and Yerranderie Regional Park remain open.

  A section of Six Foot track in the Blue Mountains National Park is closed from Monday 9 September to Monday 23 September 2024, for fire trail maintenance works.
  The closed area is on Nellies Glen Road, between the Katoomba track head and Mitchells Creek trail.

  Valley of the Waters is closed below Nature track junction until the end of September 2024 for track repairs. There is no access to Empress Canyon and Sylvia Falls.
  
  Other planned events: Notice of 1080 aerial baiting program
  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting an aerial baiting program in Blue Mountains National Park from Monday 26 August 2024 to Sunday 8 September 2024.
  The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
  The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise the impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
  Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  Closed areas: Six Foot track - Bowtells Bridge closure
  Bowtells swing bridge on Six Foot track is closed to protect public safety. An upgrade is being planned and the bridge is expected to reopen in mid August 2024. Signs and barriers are in place to prevent access onto the bridge.
  Crown Lands, which manages the bridge, is advising track users not to attempt to cross Coxs River. Any attempts to cross the river are at your own risk and are discouraged due to the potential for slips or falls, rainfall and risk of flash flooding.

  Marrangaroo National Park
  
  The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of wild dogs and foxes.
  The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
  Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  Closed areas: Woodford-Oaks trail closure
  Woodford-Oaks trail is closed on weekdays to all cyclists and pedestrians due to heavy machinery in operation.
  The Oaks and Single tracks will be open to cyclists on weekends, and will fully reopen as soon as works are complete.

  Safety alerts: Remote walking track conditions
  Remote routes within the Kanangra Wilderness Area including Kanangra to Katoomba (K2K) trail have been impacted by heavy fire regrowth and flood damage.
  In some places, tracks are no longer visible and are not easy to navigate, taking longer to traverse than expected. Limited to zero water sources are currently available along routes.
  If you plan to walk in the area, please ensure you have an appropriate level of experience, navigation skills and equipment including Personal Locator Beacon (PLB).
  Mobile reception is limited so alternative communication methods are strongly recommended.

  Closed areas: Glenbrook precinct closure
  The Glenbrook precinct will be closed on weekdays for major roadworks, from Monday 29 April to Tuesday 15 October 2024.
  Heavy machinery and vehicles will be in operation from Mondays to Fridays during this period. Access beyond the entry gate will be closed to all vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists.

  Waratah Native Gardens picnic area is closed until further notice. This includes Gorge walking track. No access to the area is permitted.
