White Rock Peak from Lake Morris Road

Starting from the dirt car park on Lake Morris Road, this walk takes you to White Rock Peak in Dinden National Park and back, visiting Mount Sheridan along the way. This walk is pretty close to Cairns, Queensland, and it is suitable for families with kids with short steep sections. You can traverse through the rainforest and reach White Rock Lookout, where you can enjoy the open views of Cairns. There is a lot of shade along the walk. Keep in mind that it can get a little slippery after rainfall. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From Lake Morris Road(460 metres northeast of Lake Morris Reserve Lookout), head towards the woodland along the gravel track gently uphill, moving directly away from the yellow U turn - speed limit(20 km/h) sign across the road. Follow the said track as it meanders up towards the summit of Mount Sheridan to continue along White Rock Peak from Lake Morris Road Track.....

  Due to recovery works after ex-Tropical Cyclone Jasper, access to White Rock peak walking track on Lake Morris Road is closed from Wednesday 22 May to Saturday 30 November 2024 (dates inclusive). The walking track will be closed during this period. Affected parks: Davies Creek National Park, Dinden National Park, Dinden West Forest Reserve and Bare Hill Conservation Park
