Getting started
From the corner of Neil and Loftus Streets, this walk heads down the footpath between the houses and onto the end of Jibbon Beach. From here, the walk follows the beach past the large 'Royal National Park' sign and, after several hundred metres, comes to an intersection and a large green sign saying 'Jibbon Loop Track', approximately 90m from the end of the beach.....

	After another 70 m turn right.
	After another 9 m continue straight.
	After another 670 m veer left. After another 120 m find the "Jibbon Beach" (25 m on your left). Jibbon Beach Jibbon Beach is in the Royal National Park, just east of Bundeena. The yellow sand, crescent-shaped beach is about 800m long and looks north across the entrance to Port Hacking. The beach is in a bay that forms part of a popular harbour for sailing boats. There is a rock shelf at either end of the beach. From the north-eastern end of the beach, there is a track leading to the Jibbon Head Aboriginal engravings site and Little Jibbon Beach. There are no patrols or other facilities at this beach.
	Turn right. After another 120 m pass the sign (5 m on your left). After another 110 m (from the Jibbon Loop Track) continue straight, to head along Jibbon Loop Track.
	After another 145 m (from the Jibbon Loop Track) turn right. After another 10 m cross the bridge Then head up the steps (about 7 m long) Then cross the bridge
	Continue another 10 m to find the end. Then turn around here and retrace the main route for 1.3 km to get back to the start. About 10 m past the end is "Jibbon Head Aboriginal Engravings". Jibbon Head Aboriginal Engravings These Aboriginal engravings are found on the western side of Jibbon Head, just above little Jibbon Beach. The large rock shelf has a number of large engraving of both marine and land animals. Most are in good condition - the whale is particularly large, so you will need to stand right back to see it. Take care not to walk on the engravings - lets preserve this site for many generations to come.

Bundeena
Bundeena is a small township at the northern end of Royal National Park and the southern side of the entrance to Port Hacking. The town can be accessed by car or ferry. There are a few B&B's and other accommodation options and a number of cafes to choose from. Bundeena has a mixed atmosphere, partly a beach holiday community but also home to some permanent residents. There are two main beaches - Hordens Beach to the west and Jibbon Beach to the east. Both are nice beaches inside Port Hacking.

Jibbon Beach
Jibbon Beach is in the Royal National Park, just east of Bundeena. The yellow sand, crescent-shaped beach is about 800m long and looks north across the entrance to Port Hacking. The beach is in a bay that forms part of a popular harbour for sailing boats. There is a rock shelf at either end of the beach. Little Jibbon Beach
Little Jibbon Beach is found just north of Jibbon Beach in the Royal National Park. The small beach can be accessed via the Jibbon Head track. This north-facing beach has great views across Port Hacking towards Cronulla. This is not a nudest beach (as some believe) - If you see nudest bathers, they can be reported by calling Crime Stoppers on 131 444.

  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service has been working closely with NSW Police, NSW Maritime and Sutherland Shire Council to reduce congestion and improve swimmer safety around Bonnie Vale picnic area on busy days in Royal National Park.
  As part of a range of safety initiatives, the Bonnie Vale Boat Launch will be closed for the Australia Day long weekend from Saturday 25 January to Monday 27 January 2025. Traffic controllers will be on-site and vehicles with boat trailers will not be permitted to enter or park in Bonnie Vale. The Boat Launch will be open as normal from Tuesday 28 January 2025.
  For information on other boat launch facilities in Sutherland Shire please visit the Sutherland Shire Council website.

  Closed areas: Toilets closed - Pool Flat picnic area
  The toilets at Pool Flat picnic area will be closed until further notice due to a vandalism event. The nearest alternative toilets can be found at Ironbark Flat near the Visitor's Centre.

  Closed areas: The Meadows vehicle trail closed for trail repairs
  The Meadows vehicle trail in the Royal National Park is closed on weekdays from Monday 13 January to Friday 7 February 2025 due to construction works.
  Please obey all closure signage and follow instructions of NPWS staff and contractors.

  Closed areas: Royal Coast Track - partial closure
  Walking the full length of The Coast track from Otford to Bundeena or Bundeena to Otford is not currently possible due to several track closures along its length. These closures are necessary due to erosion, rockfall risk and ongoing track upgrade works.
  Please note the following closures:
  
  The Garie to Little Garie section of The Coast track is closed due to hazardous rockfalls and erosion
  
  North Era campground is closed until further notice
  
  Garie Road, Garie Beach and the Garie precinct is closed until further notice due to damage and subsidence of the road surface. Walkers approaching from the north (e.g. from Wattamolla or Bundeena) should exit the track via Curra Moors track.
  
  Bushwalker access is available for the following sections of The Coast track:
  
  South bound access - Bundeena to Curra Moors track via Wattamolla and return only. There's no access to Garie Beach.
  
  North bound access - Is via Garawarra Farm Ridge trail and Burgh Ridge track to North Era and return, during track upgrades.

  Werrong Beach track in Royal National Park is closed until further notice due to landslides. Signs will be in place around the closed area.

  North Era campground is closed until further notice due to operational activities. For more information please contact the local area office on 02 9542 0648.
  
  Closed areas: Garie Road closed due to damage
  Garie Road is closed until further notice due to damage to the road surface.
  This road may remain closed for some time to allow for extensive repairs. A reopening date is not currently known.
