A bit of shameless promotion.
(but you can probably do this with other shelters too....)



This is what the Tarptent Hogback and Scarp 1 look like in what I call the Half Bug mode.
The idea is that you can enjoy the view somewhat protected from light breeze (not stong wind) and if the weather change you should be able to pull the fly down in a few minutes.
(some practice maybe required...)
These shots should also give a better idea of the size of these shelters.
The Blue and Black mats are 183 cm , the other two 168cm.
In the Scarp shot I have a Mont Bell pillow next to the mat so the combined length is 198cm. The floor end is at 218cm . At that point the mesh is 33cm from the floor.
The same 33cm is the minimum height in the Hogback, right at the corner. About 5cm in at about shoulder level

Note that the Hogback comes only with the mesh inner, with the Scarp you can choose the fabric or mesh (or both)

Those set ups are for "best weather" only, not if you expect or have wind blowing.
The red guyline is attached to the tie out point that normally connects to the fly.
In either set up you do not really need to have those corners up , I did that mostly to show the room available inside (sort of see through style) when set up with the fly.
Often I have seen people commenting about minimum floor length for a particular person's height.
In reality that "minimum" depends on the usable vertical space.
As those pictures show, the whole floor of those TT is usable.
(sort of small outside, but big inside...)
