Safer Bushwalks Tips on staying safe on track
Before you start any bushwalk ensure you;
• Tell someone you trust where you are going and what to do if you are overdue
• Have adequate equipment, supplies, skills & knowledge for the whole journey
• Consider the impact of weather forecasts, park/track closures & fire dangers
• Can respond to emergencies & call for help at any point
• Are healthy and fit enough for this journey
If not, change plans and stay safe. It is okay to delay and ask people for help.

Getting There Transport options and directions

Start	At the intersection of Cliffs Trail & Robinsons Knob Trail, Comara. (-30.5028315,152.3889419)

Directions	From Grafton Road, Ebor, head east along Point Lookout Road; After 11.8km, come to the trackhead on Point Lookout Road Ebor.

Turn map	Directions & comments
	Start (from at the intersection of Cliffs Trail & Robinsons Knob Trail, Comara) by heading east along the Robinsons Knob Trail. After another 20m, head around the gate.
	After another 1.4km, (at the 3-way intersection, with & Robinsons Knob Trail) continue straight, to follow the Robinsons Knob Trail.
	After another 40m, (at the 3-way intersection, with Robinsons Knob Trail & ) take the right fork.
	Then (at the 3-way intersection, with & Wrights Lookout Track) continue straight, to follow the Wrights Lookout Track. Then almost immediately you will find the John B. Williams memorial sign (on your right). Then almost immediately, pass John B. Williams memorial seat (5m on your right).
	After another 400m, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Wrights Lookout Track.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. Sidetrip to another lookout. To start this optional side trip turn right here. When you have finished this side trip, head back to the main route and turn right to continue. Details below. After another 40m, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Wrights Lookout Track. After another 80m you will find the Wrights Lookout .
	Then almost immediately you will be at the turn-around point (to return to the start) at Wrights Lookout, Brinerville.

	To start this sidetrip turn right (from, Brinerville) by heading south-west.
	After another 50m, (at the 3-way intersection) bear left. After another 30m you will find the Wrights Lookout .
	Then almost immediately this sidetrip ends at Wrights Lookout, Comara.

  Other planned events: Notice of ongoing 1080 program
  NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service (NPWS) is conducting ongoing aerial and ground baiting programs. Aerial baiting and ground baiting is scheduled from 8th June 2025 to 8th December 2025. The operation will use 1080 (sodium fluoroacetate) poison for the control of Wild dogs and Foxes.
  Aerial baiting and ground baiting will occur in:
  Richmond River Area – Captains Creek Nature Reserve (NR), Richmond Range National Park (NP), Bundjalung NP
  Clarence Area - Nymboi-Binderay NP, Nymboida NP, Mount Neville NR, Banyabba NR and State Conservation Area (SCA), Ramornie NP, Bundjalung NP
  Coffs Coast Area - Bagul Waajaarr NR, Bindarri NP, Cascade NP, Chaelundi NP and SCA, Cunnawarra NP, Dorrigo NP, Dunggir NP, Gumbaynggirr SCA, Jobs Mountain NR, Mount Hyland NR and SCA, New England NP, Ngambaa NR, Nymboi-Binderay NP, Serpentine NR.
  Hastings Macleay Area- The Cells SCA, Cottan-Bimbang NP, Carrai NP and SCA, New England NP, Pee Dee NR, The Castles NR, Werrikimbe NP, Willi Willi NP, Mount Seaview NR.
  The program is designed to minimise predator impacts on wildlife, especially threatened species, and to minimise impact of wild dogs on neighbouring stock.
  Signs will be placed at the entry to the baiting location. Domestic pets are not permitted in NSW National Parks managed lands. Pets and working dogs may be affected (1080 is lethal to cats and dogs). Pets and working dogs must be restrained or muzzled in the vicinity and must not enter the baiting location. In the event of accidental poisoning seek immediate veterinary assistance.

  Closed areas: West End Trail - New England NP - Closed.
  West End Trail in New England NP permanently closed due to multiple bridges out.
  
  Closed areas: Closed roads due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred in New England National Park
  Closed roads in New England National Park until 31 August due to Ex-tropical cyclone Alfred. Road blocks have been installed on the Horseshoe road to prevent vehicle movements at the Killikrankie Mountain Lookout intersection in the north and at Kilprotay road Intersection to the south. In addition, Kilprotay road has developed a natural road blockage about 3.5 km from the intersection with the Horseshoe road.
  Two significant events have been identified, affecting the roading network in New England National Park:
  
  Horseshoe road – culvert blow out and undermining of road, no through access
  
  Kilprotay road – major landslip (~3.5km from the top intersection with the Horseshoe road), no through access
  
  Gaddes Ridge road - major landslip, no through access
  
  These closures will remain in place until geohazard assessments can be undertaken and works completed. Penalties apply for non-compliance.
