Morialta Falls Plateau Hike

Starting from the car park at the end of Morialta Falls Road, Woodforde, this walk takes you on a circuit around Morialta Conservation Park via the Morialta Falls Plateau Hike. This scenic loop walk passes several lookouts in Morialta Conservation Park, offering excellent views of Morialta Gorge and First Falls. The hike begins along Fourth Creek, then ascends above the valley floor past Giant's Cave and continues to the Kookaburra Rock Lookout, which offers stunning views of Morialta Gorge's towering cliffs. After crossing the creek at the top of First Falls, the trail passes several fenced lookouts that provide spectacular views of the falls, including the Eagles Nest Lookout. This loop consists mainly of narrow walking trails, with some short steep hills and rocky, uneven surfaces that may be slippery when wet, and can be done in either direction. Dogs on a leash are permitted only in the park's recreation zone. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the car park at the end of Morialta Falls Road, Woodforde, head past the large information shelter (to your right) beyond the car park. Continue ahead past a smaller information shelter and a bridge (to your left), passing between two 'Morialta First Falls' signs. Head straight along the wide track, following the 'Morialta Falls Plateau Walk' signs, and continue the Morialta Falls Plateau Walk (clockwise).....

This toilet is wheelchair accessible. There is a sign (about 35 m back from the start). After another 70 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk.
	After another 50 m continue straight. After another 20 m cross the bridge (about 8 m long) After another 15 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk. After another 30 m cross the bridge (about 15 m long) After another 6 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk.

	After another 7 m turn right, to head along First Falls Valley Walk.
	After another 60 m (at the intersection of Centre Track & First Falls Valley Walk) turn left, to head along Centre Track. After another 120 m continue straight, to head along Centre Track.
	After another 75 m continue straight. After another 225 m continue straight.
	After another 165 m turn right.
	After another 15 m veer left.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This little side trip takes you to a viewpoint where you can get a great view of the First Falls from above. To start this optional side trip turn right here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 60 m turn left.
	After another 45 m turn right. After another 195 m continue straight.
	After another 305 m come to the "Kookaburra Rock Lookout" (9 m on your right). Turn sharp left.
	After another 250 m turn right. After another 195 m continue straight. After another 5 m head down the steps (about 65 m long) Then head down the surface\|paving_stones steps (about 50 m long) Then head down the surface\|paved steps (about 40 m long)
	Then pass the "Giant's Cave" (on your left). After another 40 m continue straight. After another 10 m cross the bridge (about 7 m long) After another 25 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk.
	After another 40 m veer left. After another 15 m cross the bridge (about 15 m long) After another 25 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk. After another 55 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk. After another 6 m cross the bridge (about 15 m long)
	After another 30 m continue straight. After another 15 m cross the bridge (about 8 m long) After another 20 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk. After another 50 m continue straight, to head along First Falls Valley Walk.
	Continue another 40 m to find at the intersection of Morialta Falls Road & First Falls Valley Walk at the end.

This little side trip takes you to a viewpoint where you can get a great view of the First Falls from above.
