A network of timber boardwalks from the Penguin Island Jetty leads to the Discovery Centre and all the main points of interest around the island. The Department of Parks and Wildlife constructed these boardwalks around the island to protect the fragile environment, natural vegetation, and many birds' nests, including fairy penguins.
