The Goolwa Beach Boardwalk is a return walk starting from the car park at the end of Beach Road, Goolwa South. This walk takes you to a lookout via a wooden boardwalk. Expect panoramic views of the Indian Ocean on one side, Murray Mouth and Hindmarsh Island on the other. Besides the scenery, you can spot heaps of shorebirds, whether nesting or up in the sky. After enjoying the sights, you can dip in the cool waters or eat at the cafe next to the car park. Many people enjoy off-roading along the beach with their 4WDs as well. The first half of the boardwalk is wheelchair friendly, but the rest involves steps. Dogs are allowed on-leash/off-leash depending on the season, please check beforehand.
