North Mulligans Perimeter Loop

Starting from the car park on Mulligans Flat Road, Forde, this walk takes you on a full circuit around the north portion of Mulligans Flat Nature Reserve mostly via a fire trail. As you skirt the borders of the reserve, watch out for all kinds of animals such as kangaroos and echidnas as well as some sheep. Birdwatching can also be quite fruitful on this walk. There are various species of birds present, especially inside and around the ponds along the track. Don’t let the fauna grab all your attention though, as the panoramic views over Canberra -and the colorful blanket of wildflowers enhancing those views- are not to be missed. You can even see the Telstra Tower if you know where to look. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
Starting from the car park on Mulligans Flat Road(230 metres east of intersection/roundabout with Henry Williams Street), head towards the metal steps with railings going over the fence. Take the steps and head towards the slanted signs along the dirt path. Pass by the said signs (to your right) and head towards the fence line along the wide dirt trail to continue along North Mulligans Perimeter Loop (clockwise).....

	Start. Find the park at the start. Find the stile at the start. After another 3 m turn right, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail.
	After another 25 m turn left. After another 820 m continue straight.
	After another 45 m cross the ford. Continue straight. After another 180 m continue straight.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. An optional side trip taking you to Oak Hill and back. To start this optional side trip turn left here. On returning from this side trip turn around when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 390 m turn right, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail. After another 235 m continue straight, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail.
	After another 2.3 km continue straight, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail. After another 20 m pass the car park (8 m on your left). After another 85 m continue straight, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail. After another 660 m continue straight, to head along Canberra Centenary Trail.
	After another 25 m turn left. After another 10 m come to the end.

An optional side trip taking you to Oak Hill and back.
