Yul-Yan-Man and Soldiers Settlement Circuit

Starting from the car park at the end of Mount Beerburrum Access Road, Beerburrum, this walk takes you on a circuit in the varied woodland of Glass House Mountains National Park via the Yul-Yan-Man and Soldiers Settlement tracks, optionally visiting the Jack Ferris Lookout along the way. This well-marked scenic circuit features different types of terrain underfoot, and provides you distinct views of the surrounding Glass House Mountains. Starting with a scramble at the base of Mt Beerburrum, you’ll then dive into the lively woodland. Expect to see lots of wild flowers, and some sunbaking(Australian slang for sunbathing) lace monitor lizards along the track. The pretty scenery continues throughout the track, and there are many spots for you to just stop and take in the view. Grippy footwear is recommended. Take plenty of water as the track is quite exposed, with rocks soaking up all the sunlight. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the car park at the end of Mount Beerburrum Access Road, head towards the roofed informational signpost(next to a bench) gently uphill along the dirt path. Pass by the said signpost and another green directional signpost to find yourself at an intersection. Turn right here and keep left after a few metres to follow the Yul-Yan-Man Track. Stay on the said track as you move past Mount Beerburrum(to your left) to continue along the Yul-Yan-Man and Soldiers Settlement Circuit(clockwise). This is the described direction of travel.....

	Start heading along Mount Beerburrum Walking Track.
	After another 15 m (at the intersection of Yul-yun-man Track & Mount Beerburrum Walking Track) turn right, to head along Yul-yun-man Track (a walking track). After another 10 m pass the sign (on your left). Then pass a seat (10 m on your left)., has a backrest. Continue straight, to head along Yul-yun-man Track. Keep left.
	The starting point of an optional sidetrip. This optional side trip takes you to the Jack Ferris Lookout. A good place to take a break and admire the views. Will add up around 10 minutes to your journey. To start this optional side trip veer left here. On returning from this side trip turn left when you get back to this intersection. Details below. After another 3.6 km (at the intersection of Trachyte Circuit & Yul-yun-man Track) turn sharp right, to head along Trachyte Circuit.
	After another 600 m (at the intersection of Soldiers Settlement Track & Trachyte Circuit) turn right, to head along Soldiers Settlement Track. After another 950 m continue straight, to head along Soldiers Settlement Track. After another 1.1 km continue straight, to head along Soldiers Settlement Track. After another 820 m pass the "Beerburrum Cemetery Bushland Reserve" (15 m on your right). After another 450 m continue straight, to head along Soldiers Settlement Track.
	After another 90 m (at the intersection of Soldiers Settlement Track & Beerburrum State School Carpark) veer right, to head along Beerburrum State School Carpark (a service road).
	After another 15 m continue straight. After another 340 m head through/around the gate.
	Turn right.
	After another 740 m come to the end.

This optional side trip takes you to the Jack Ferris Lookout. A good place to take a break and admire the views. Will add up around 10 minutes to your journey.

	The end. Turn around and retrace your steps back the 350 m to the main route.
