Before you start any bushwalk ensure you;
• Tell someone you trust where you are going and what to do if you are overdue
• Have adequate equipment, supplies, skills & knowledge for the whole journey
• Consider the impact of weather forecasts, park/track closures & fire dangers
• Can respond to emergencies & call for help at any point
• Are healthy and fit enough for this journey
If not, change plans and stay safe. It is okay to delay and ask people for help.

Getting There Transport options and directions

Directions	From , head south along Mount Lindesay Highway; After 60m, turn left on to Running Creek Road. After another 23.7km, continue straight along Lions Road. After another 2.4km, turn left on to Lions Road Cougal. After another 1.7km, come to the trackhead on Lions Road Cougal.

	After another 200m, (at the 3-way intersection) take the left fork, to stay on the Border Loop Track. After another 200m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 150m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 100m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 150m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 20m, cross the metal grid bridge. After another 40m, cross the metal grid bridge.
	After another 100m, (at the 3-way intersection) continue straight, to stay on the Border Loop Track. After another 200m, cross the metal grid bridge.
	After another 200m, (at the 3-way intersection) bear left, to stay on the Border Loop Track.
	After another 70m, (at the 3-way intersection, with Border Loop Track & ) bear right.
	Then almost immediately you come to the end at Border Ranges National Park sign post, Cougal.

  Safety alerts: vegetation fallen on walking track remain vigilant
  The Booyong Walking track currently has some large trees down, it is passable but please remain vigilant. Works are being programmed as soon as possible. For more information contact the Kyogle NPWS office on 0266320000
  
  Closed areas: Border Loop Lookout closed for roadworks
  The Border Loop Lookout and walking track will be closed to all visitors to allow for essential roadworks on the Lions Road.
  The Lions Road will be closed to all visitors between Standfield's Bridge at Cougal and the Queensland border.

  The Tweed Range Scenic Drive and the Brindle Creek Loop road are currently open and suitable for 2WD vehicles.
