Hobart Rivulet Track to Cascade Gardens

Starting from the car park off Molle Street, Hobart, this walk takes you to Cascade Gardens and back via the Hobart Rivulet Track, visiting the world-heritage-listed Female Factory along the way. The history of the city can be seen as you follow the rivulet upstream. The aforementioned Female Factory, for example, was the place where the female prisoners were kept with their kids. A couple of hundred metres upstream from the end lies the Cascade Brewery, the oldest continuously working brewery in Australia. The Cascade Gardens at the end has a playground, BBQs, a water tap and a toilet. Dogs are allowed on leash. Let us begin by acknowledging the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we travel today, and pay our respects to their Elders past and present.

Getting started
From the northwestern side of the car park at the intersection of Molle Street and Collins Street, head towards the yellow metal bollard placed along the fence. Pass through the said bollard and head along the paved track as you pass by some benches and a slanted signpost (to your left). Stay on the track as you keep Hobart Rivulet to your left to continue along Hobart Rivulet Track to Cascade Gardens Track.....

	After another 260 m continue straight. After another 180 m continue straight, to head along McKellar Street.
	After another 10 m (at the intersection of Hobart Rivulet Track & Gore Street) continue straight, to head along Hobart Rivulet Track (a walking track). After another 400 m (at the intersection of Hobart Rivulet Track & Wynyard Street) continue straight, to head along Hobart Rivulet Track. 	After another 145 m (at the intersection of Hobart Rivulet Track & Hill Track) continue straight, to head along Hobart Rivulet Track. After another 20 m (at the intersection of Tara Street & Hobart Rivulet Track) continue straight.
	After another 55 m (at the intersection of Degraves Street & Syme Street) continue straight, to head along Degraves Street (a residential road). After another 95 m pass the "Visitor Centre" (30 m on your right). At the intersection of Degraves Street & Apsley Street continue straight, to head along Degraves Street. After another 10 m pass the "Cascades Female Factory" (35 m on your right). Continue straight, to head along Degraves Street. After another 170 m (at the intersection of Degraves Street & McRobies Road) continue straight, to head along Degraves Street.
	After another 35 m (at the intersection of McRobies Road & Degraves Street) veer left, to head along McRobies Road. After another 15 m continue straight, to head along McRobies Road. After another 20 m turn right.
	After another 90 m continue straight. After another 30 m pass the water tap (on your right). Then pass the toilet (7 m on your right). This toilet is wheelchair accessible. A playground . About 25 m past the end is a BBQ. Turn around here and retrace the main route for 2.4 km to get back to the start.
