Fair enough, knees are good... Me, well, I like the idea that sustainability begins with products that last (and If pressed further will admit I can lose 200gms of my butt for the same net gain (loss?).
I actually invested in a Ti mtb and road bike a few years back, and while I push a few more grams around than some riding mates plastic fantastic (carbon) bikes, mine will last be decades I reckon. I like that.
I do see the allure and attraction of lightweight gear too..last week walking on the St.James I carried a new explorer (which weighs 2.00kg whereas the ravine weighs 2.05kg), and I was able to slip a few extra chocolate fish into my lolly bag! awesome! (but my butt size stayed static in this instance)
